I recently am thinking about buying a 1988 stratos 266 fish and ski with a evinrude 90 hp v4 vro engine. My two concerns come from the electric tilt and trim it was working the first day i brought it home but now i cant get the engine to go up or down. I dont know where to start im not really familar with boat engines but i like to think of myself and mechanically inclined. My other concern is the shift linkage cable which i replaced myself but the housing in the engine looked like it had been rigged up and it wants to jump out of gear i guess you could say. Any help would be nice im thinking about replacing the housing that holds the shift linkage cable in place but not sure if the skill level is higher than i posess.
