"John, the 90 horse, 3 cylinder, 2 stroke Merc is probably their most prolific (mid horsepower) motor of all time. Powerhead and gears made by Yamaha with Merc's super durable ignition make it a great motor.
There is ton's of parts available both new and used in the aftermarket and it's one of only 2, conventional 2 stroke models still in production by Merc in North America which means it still has 100% OEM support.
There was some minor changes to the model in the 95 model year and on, but all parts still fit 94 and earlier (sometimes with a very minor modification).
You could not have picked a better motor in that horsepower range...."
