Hello, I'm new to this forum and by no means a mechanic.
I have a 2001 Merc 115 4stroke. I bought it on a Bass Tracker. Of course it ran fine when buying it and ran fine for several hours. Then it started to hesitate a little cruising. Hesitating more and more each hour. I went from an RPM of 5000 to only 3400 at top end. Starts fine each time. New plugs, filter and gas did nothing.
I took it to none dealer repair shop. Told that a inner screen filter was clogged and cleaned, gas treatment added and nothing else seemed out of order. Test run at shop was good.
I took it out and it ran great for about an hour then started all over again with the same issues. I siphoned out the tank and found no water or debris. Gas filter (paper) looked fine and no water in bowl. Ran it again with same issues.
Anyone know of some/same issues with the early 2000 115hp models that sound like this???
