I.D. Motor please-Johnson 6hp Model CD23E

Any info on this engine at all please! Mix ratio, spark plug number, gap and brand. How the controls work,etc. I believe it's a 1966 6hp Seahorse, but am not sure.

It is a 66 model.-------50:1 gas oil mix.------J4C sparkplugs------One of the simplest / best fishing motors made.

I am at 6400 ft. from sea level in Wyoming. Where should I have the lean/rich knob set approximately to get a basis to tune it?

The lean / rich is for slow speed running only.--------------You will have to remove the fixed high speed jet in the bottom of the carburetor bowl.-----Read the # on it and then buy a new high speed jet for the high altitude as per your friendly dealer's suggestion.
