I broke my motor.

I have a 1996 J4REDS Johnson 4 hp. I have this motor on an inflatable pontoon. For reverse I rotate the motor around and go backwards. Well I have found that I broke the frame part that is a circle that the tiller base goes through. The circle broke in the middle from side to side. Now I can't turn the motor. What are the options to fix this?

Myself I would use J B weld and fibreglass to repar the parts.----------Takes time , but no special skills required.

This part is under way too much of a load for JB weld.

No, no----That is why I mention to use fibreglass to re-enforce this.--------Results and opinions will always vary.

Can you have it welded ?? If not maybe try gray marine tex.
