Hydro-Lock Again !!!

OK, this happened to me back on June 30 (I ended up stripping the nylon cup gear in my starter). "BT Doctur" was very helpful with troubleshooting and fixing my problem. I have been out with the boat several times since and it has been running great.
Took it out last Saturday, ran great all day. Took it out on Sunday and after beaching it, it would not start (no turn over). Borrowed some tools from the local marina and I was able to pull the plugs right there on the beach, turned it over and pushed water out of one side of the block (4.3 Mercruiser) put it all back together and it ran great the rest of the day.
I did notice something that was the same as the other time this happened, when I went to glide into the beach I shut off the motor and raised the trim while still in gear (mistake) and I had some engine run-on, the mechanic at the marina said that it may have been running backwards and sucked in water because it was in gear while coasting causing the run-on (kind of like push starting a manual transmission car).
Does anyone have any comments or thoughts.

Thank you.

I'll bet the water is coming in from the risers or exhaust manifold, that's leaking.

Typically, once you blow the water out of the motor, it'll run fine until you shut her off. The water will then leak in through the exhausts and start the problem all over.

I am thinking it is from waves forcing water back up the exhaust...he beached it and the boat is rocking up and down and water is bieng pushed backward into the manifolds...

Ill repeat it for you
NEVER NOSE IN TO THE BEACH ,water will run up the exaust

Thanks for the comments everyone, since it happened to the same side of the block as the first time I'm going to pull the exhaust manifold and check the condition. I have been pulling up to this beach for years without any problems, everyone does it there and I haven't seen anyone with a problem. Maybe I'll just stay out on the water from now on and anchor close to the beach.
If i find any problems with the exhaust manifold I'll keep you posted.

Thanks again.

Look in the Y pipe after the elbow and see if the flapper is there.. that is suposed to reduce back flush... maybe it broke off and water now rushes back into manifold...
