"I have an 1991 evinrude 4hp outboard, which I have only run in a dustbin. I hope to get one run on a lake before the winter. This may seem a daft question, how do you tilt the motor?
Also before putting away for the winter, I need to drain off the fuel. What is the easiest way to do this? Is there anything else I need to do"

"to drain the fuel off.. the easiest way is to disconnect the fuel line and run it till the engine stops, you may want to spray some fogging oil in the spark plug hole when done, give a couple pulls, spray a little more, then put the plug back in.

not sure about the tilt, usually a lever in front, but the engine would need to be tighten up and on a boat or engine stand for proper leverage.

You may also want to familiarize yourself with checking the gear oil."

If thats the deluxe model &#40

If thats the deluxe model (you dont tell us the model number!) with reverse gear the tilt lock release is the flat topped knob on the front of the transom mount bracket. Only turns half a turn. One way locks the tilt the other way releases it. (I dont think there is a prop to keep it tilted though.)
