I have a 2002 Larson 180 with an I/O Volvo Penta 3.0 GSP-C engine. My starter is burnt and must be removed. I am having a hard time getting any type of wrench, socket handle even my hands in to get the starter bolts lose. Is there a trick to removing this starter? Does the engine have to be lifted to remove the starter? Can someone please give me some advise as to how I can remove this starter. Need to get back in water soon.
