How to reassemble 1985 8hp fuel pump

I have the original directions

I have the original directions for assembly but this Evinrude E8RCOB might be different. Tried upteen different ways and air either goes through both pipes or neither one.

Can someone help on this? Thanks. Bob

You should be able to blow through the pump in the direction that fuel normally flows but not in the opposite direction."
