"Well we got the motor running good now, thanks for all of the help everybody. Now I have to figure out how to wire in the new tach I bought, so I can actually see what I am running. I have a Clymer manual, but it keeps going back the the plug on the wiring. I no longer have the factory plug - it rotted away, we installed a 12 pair wire we bought to make sure we had all the control wires necessary. If anybody knows we also want to find out how to install a over-heat buzzer."

"find the grey wire on the rectifier, that is the signal or sence wire the tach needs. Most merc control boxes came with a plug on the front, buy the wire adaptor and hook it to the tach. grey for signal, purple for power, black for ground"
