How to bleed a mercury tilt/trim

Myfirst boat

I have a late 80's 35hp mercury with a 3 ram tilt/trim. The tilt/trim has one ram in the middle and 2 smaller ones on each side. I'm looking to bleed the system. The reservoir is on the side of the unit.... port side. I think I raise the motor so all the rams are extended and then fill the reservoir. At this point I close the reservoir cap and lower and raise the motor a few times to remove the air??.... Then repeat....does this sound correct?? I have no lines on this unit it appears to be self contained.

Yes sir. I don't know which is which but one or the other is trim and the other(s) are tilt I would imagine. I vaguely remember seeing that years ago. I had a 70's engine that had the trim cylinders outboard of the clamp bracket; first attempt at trim after the shocks only design. My current 000's engine only has one piston to do both jobs. I assume that the 3 piston was an intermediate step before Merc engrs. figured out how to do it all in one step.
