It also depends on whether or not all of the old oil was removed. If a quart or two of dirty oil didn't get sucked out....

To repeat what I said above, the motor will take 5 quarts IF 2 quarts of dirty oil did not get sucked out.

Re your next question

If you are going to ask when to change the oil after the rebuild, I would suggest that you change it between 15-20 hours after running them... Just my opinion after dropping in a rebuilt 350.
I changed the oil after 16 hours...wasn't too bad and now I change the oil after every season. (May - Oct up here in the Great White North):cool:

Brrr! I hear you guys time your boating season up there with a sun dial? Or is that just a dirty rumor?

Jeff

Well Jeff...we keep warm in the winter by watching your pre-Presidential election mayhem and chopping logs to build our own wall to stop the influx of "You'alls" should the "blonde bomber " take it all the way ;)

Being hardy types we drop the "tin and glass" in the water when the ice huts start to sink and keep them afloat until you start that election thing again in the Fall:cool:

Sounds like good plans eh ???
