I have a 1980 Tahiti Daycruiser, in 1987 the owner had a panther 454 installed, there are the standard full/add marks plus an additional mark about 2.5 inches above the full mark, I changed the oil with filter (Hose fitted on oil pan)added 6 qt. and it came up to the full mark, I have had people tell me this engine takes more oil, some one scribed that mark for a reason. Does any one know the oil capacity for a panther 454 1987?
