"Amir, it really depends on how much speed you want that kicker to deliver.

A 4 horse may push it along (with no wind) at 2-3 mph, which well may be enough for trolling.

If you want it for double duty as an emergency back-up should you main motor ever give up on you, you may want a little more horsepower.

I have some excellent software that will give a horsepower recommendation for you, just need you to post what your expectations for your kicker are..."

"Amir, give a 8hp yami 4 strok

"Amir, give a 8hp yami 4 stroke a good look, would troll down for any fishing you may do, enough power to push the boat if you lost main power, is not to heavy for you application, quiet, can be purchased with power tilt, (saving your back) remote control and has a great charging system if you use electronics while fishing, also good in the salt...the motor of choice up here (BC west coast) for 15 to 19 foot boats) good resale too"

"Rollie, totally agree with at

"Rollie, totally agree with at least an 8 horse in any event. You want something with twin cylinders. A single cylinder 4 stroke idles like crap no matter how well you keep it maintained once the motor has been run for a few hours..."
