"I've been putting about 50 hours per year, does that sound about right? When should I be concerned about to many hours, such as engine rebuild or outdrive replacement?

Most marine engine die from rust out from lack of proper maintenance than wear out. A FWC engine that is not normally run at over 80% of WOT has a life of thousands of hours...just like Morton said! Just be sure to replace the risers eery couple of years and don't wait for them to fail. The incremental benefit of the extra half season of use NEVER outweights the frequent additional damage cost.
