"A lot of it is determined by the size of your mufflers as they can hold more water than the engines. If you start by draining the raw water first, you know you'll be OK."

drain at heat exchange and elb

drain at heat exchange and elbows? how about if i just pull off the hose that connects the two to drain?

I used 6gal of RV antifreeze l

I used 6gal of RV antifreeze last year in my Crusader 8.1L FWC. I didn't drain the saltwater side first as it's flushed with fresh on the lift after each use. I even do a FW flush with my Groco flusher when I come back in from a trip and just dock it over night.

I just suck it in until I see a good pink color out the exhaust. I do have a pretty good size muffler on the Carolina Classic.

When the boat is pulled after each use I get a pretty good amount of drain on the muffler due to the fork lift angle.

"I had a 5 gallon bucket set u

"I had a 5 gallon bucket set up much like yourself. I ended up doing about 5 gallons per engine, and fogged the he!! out of them in the final two gallons. I also warmed up both my engines...even tho they are FWC-figured extra flushing cant hurt!"

I flush my engines w/ fresh wa

I flush my engines w/ fresh water for a bout 15 mins. After that I drain the mufflers and then pretty much do like Ted does.

"My mufflers have a 1" dra

"My mufflers have a 1" drain in the at the rear bottom with a rubber cap held on with a hose clamp. It's a bit of a reach, but with a little stretching I can get to them."

I have 3" canister type...The only way to really drain with all the internal baffling is to remove them and turn them around in every possible direction. That worked especially well when I had to remove 3 cups of iron ore from the rotted cooling system !

I've got the 5" Salisb

I've got the 5" Salisbury brand of muffler - never drained them - just added the Pink stuff thru the raw water pump.
