I was running my 1978 evinrude 4 hp model 4806e in a 55 gal. barrel today for about 15 minutes.Seemed to be running a little hot after about 15 minutes.I was dripping water on cylinder head and it would boil off.I have replaced the water pump impeller, cleaned water passages.Actually pulled the head and blew some compressed thru the tiny water passages around the cylinders to make sure they were clear.Warm water was dripping out the exhaust holes while running like it should. These engines have no water pump tell tale.Do these engines have cooling issues due to tiny cylinder coolant passages? Should the cylinder head get that hot that water would boil when dripped on it? I'm afraid to over heat this motor since I have put money into it.I would be thankful for any help or suggestions.
