How do you remove a propeller shaft bearing housing

"I have a 1983 1.6 liter OMC S

"I have a 1983 1.6 liter OMC Sea drive out board engine, and it is leaking some oil out of the lower unit. I tried to replace the seals but I cannot get the propeller shaft bearing housing off to get to the seals. Please Help"

yes a wheel puller with 2 thre

yes a wheel puller with 2 threaded rods you have to rig it with nuts tho.put pressure on it then give it a few taps with a hammer crank it again
/tap /crank/tap....did i mention a little lube

"Hey Tim, I just had to pull the bearing housing earlier today to check out my gears & clutch dog. I just stopped down to my local Autozone, they let you borrow certain tools if you leave a small deposit. I got a timing gear puller, bought a few 12" threaded rods, washers & nuts and it ended up working like a charm! Pulled it right out of there in no time! Now I just have to track down a bigger set of snap ring pliers... the ones that I had were WAY too small to pull the 4" retaining rings out of the gearcase.

I called up auto zone and they

I called up auto zone and they said that they had different types/ sizes of timing gear pullers. Which kind/ size should I get?
 
"I just got the standard one t

"I just got the standard one that they loan out to people. Just check out the pictures I posted above, and then take a look at the ones that they have to loan out. Shouldn't be too much difference though. Don't forget to buy the threaded rods, washers & nuts too... you will need them as the included bolts are too short for the job."
