How do I get my gearbox apart?

Mercury 115hp 1986, I'm having trouble getting it apart any sneaky inside info on it?

On some of them, the flush plug has to be removed before the water pump housing can be removed. Don't be a dope like I was and hit it with a hammer!

Yah. It's on the left side. You can screw an adapter in the hole and hook a hose to it, for testing out of the water.
