Hi, new poster here.
I need to replace a honda faria trim gauge.
Honda in euro white is much more difficult to source as well as much more costly.
Anybody out there know if i can mod a trim gauge for another motor?
Im guessing its a resistance value that sets honda apart.
Thanks in advance.

You are partially right. Most of the trim gauges for mercury, volvo, suzuki, evinrude, and yamaha with some exceptions, operate by a varying resistance to ground from the trim sender.

The Honda operates by a varying voltage. I am sure it is possible to make some sort of conversion, but even if you do, the gauge would not match your other gauges.

You might consider sending it back to Faria for repair. It is considered purchasing an extended warranty. Check out this Faria web site. It tells you how to submit a return and cost of each instrument. $37 US for a Honda Trim.

Hope this helps.
