Honda throttle cables melting

I have a Honda - Yr. 2000, 15 HP, BF15AYSAS, 4 stroke outboard. The throttle cable covering melted in the grommett between the handle and motor. I installed new cables & grommett. Now, several months later the new cables have welded together. Any ideas? [email protected]

if this is an electric start motor with a battery, you have a bad ground to the engine.
