Honda control 2002 with a 2006

I just got a 2006 bf40 and it came with a top mount white plug and I’m installing it in a small rib Center console so no room to install the top mount
Will the side mount green plug that is already on the 2002 bf 50 work ?
Will I need to use the key with the push choke and what about the high idle lever?

The main wiring harness on the engine has a white plug but my older 2002 has a similar green main wiring harness plug and that’s already installed
Should I just use the old style side control and connect the white one and mount the electric choke and key on my console
Any tips
