Honda BF50 "5HP"

The BF50 was pre 1987. If the frame serial number has a BF50S or BF50L, then it is a 1985 or 1986.

That being said.....it did not come standard with a charging system. There was a kit, which included charge coil, new flywheel, rectifier, and electrical socket. It is not longer available. You might find one out there somewhere on the internet. Part Number is 31700-ZV1-003. Price at that time was about $160.

This was not a regulated charging circuit, but at least put some charge into the battery.

Honda does see a similar kit for the 1990 models and newer. I do not know if it would work on the older models.
