Honda bf225a Powerhead removal

Hello everyone,

im new here and have a question.

i need to remove the extension case on my bf225a. I'm looking at the seloc documentation and it states to remove the lower motor mount and then the 11 bolts on the underside of the extension case and that it should slip down from there. My concern is that if I removed the lower mounts what is going to support the weight of the Powerhead without those mounts in place. Do I need to support the Powerhead with a hoist or something equivalent before removing the mounts or will the upper mount support the weight of the Powerhead with the lower mounts removed?

The upper motor mounts will hold it....however....it is always good to error on the side of safety and give the motor a little extra support with a hoist or even a rope over a strong tree limb.

I pulled my extension cases off my 200s and the upper mounts supported it just fine, but Im sure a rope to engine mount for additional support wouldnt hurt
