I am trying to purchase an outboard engine for my sailboat. I basically require a long shaft. I found a really nice 9.9 honda with a short shaft for a very good price, and I was wondering if it is possible to convert the engine over to a long shaft? If so, how would I go about getting the parts and instructions on how to do it? I don't mind spending an afternoon or two and $2-300 if the engine will work just fine.
