"Spark plug electrode and tip

"Spark plug electrode and tip black?

I don't know jet size for 2hp but my BF100 10hp Main Jet is stamped with #88 and Service Manual just says that is "Standard".

Are you operating at a high altitude lake? That would require a smaller jet for normal operations.

Your fuel mixture would also be affected by Float Height setting (or a seeping needle valve).

Every single outboard motor that I have disconnected fuel and allowed to run 'dry' has speeded up slightly just before cutoff (I pull the choke at that moment to get that last drop out
)."

"yes spark plug black dry soot

"yes spark plug black dry sooty.when i cut gas off it only takes about 10 seconds to run out of gas,rpm changes bigtime.if i drain carb seems like bowlful runs out.took jet out of a BF7.5 its almost excatly same as the 2 hp.whatever thats worth.cant find any # if you can think of anything else please let me know, thanks alot"

"Found an excellent OnLine Par

"Found an excellent OnLine Parts Catalog:

http://www.boats.net/parts/search.html?Manufacturer=Honda&Catalog=Outboard+Engin e

that looks just like my local dealer had, when they had the Honda Dealership. They are still Yamaha, so I still buy there and they are helpful for p/n as the OnLine only lists p/n's that are 'available'.

Looking at a 'random' BF75 showed about the same Main Jet selection as my BF100 (#88 etc.) but a 'random' BF2 showed #62 (& #60, #65) so I would think you should use a Jet specified for Your Engine.

Unlike Yamaha, Honda does not offer any carburetor 'kits' but you can 'build your own' or get a complete carb for some models.

Limited carb'parts selection on my BF100S, s/n 16M+ and I had to 'clean' twice to get it to run past ten minutes, so do a VERY Thorough cleaning when you find the Main Jet specified for your engine AND check your Float Level Setting. My BF100 Service Manual calls for .85-1.15 CM (about 3/8th's inch) at contact (no depress of float 'button'), find the spec for your model.

Opened carb'drain after 'run-dry' yesterday and saw less than 1/2 teaspoon still in float chamber.

edit: Looked again, as I saw you posted "b20" and this looks like the catalog:
You click [next] and choose CARBURETOR, all 25 parts seem available, including four Main Jets (#62 looks best
