Engine temp increases over 200 degrees at approximately 4100 rpm. Mechanic told me there were thermostats underwear and throttle control connections. I can’t get to them. Any advice is appreciated.

There are thermostats under the silencer case. The shop manual has clear instructions on replacement. I'm not sure if you need to replace yours. My BF 200 runs at 200-208 degrees at 5000 rpm. I think as long as the overheat alarm doesn't go off, you should be fine.
