Honda 1994 25 hp BF25A, Hard to start when cold

I have a Honda 1994 BF25A engine, I recently sent to the shop for carb cleaning, engine ran great for 2 days, then would only run on 2 cylinders (bottom & middle). Engine would start fine from a cold start, but then out of the blue engine became very hard to start when engine is cold. I performed spark test and had spark to all 3 cylinders, removed top carb and cleaned, after reinstalling carb engine is running great on all 3 cylinders, but the engine is still very hard to start when cold, any ideas on what i can do to get the engine to start easily.:confused: Thanks so much for your help!

Assuming the engine is really running ok (at idle and full throttle); the idle mixtures are adjusted properly and the carbs are vacuum balanced; and you are advancing the throttle and choking while starting...the first place I would look is to see if the choke mechanism is working properly. Something may have popped out of position. Try the manual choke on the engine and see if it moves the linkages properly. If your engine starts with the manual choke, then check the linkage where the manual choke and the choke solinoid come together. It is easy to get the lever in such a position as not to allow the solinoid to actually activate the choke plates.
