"I have the 470 mercruiser wit

"I have the 470 mercruiser with a 2bbl. rochester. Carb is giving me problems still, so instead of rebuilding it again, or buying another one, i was thinking of trying something different. I used to run stock cars, and we had to run the holley 2bbl on a stock cast iron intake. The adapter plate will bolt right on the mercruiser intake. Do you think i'm wasting my time with this carb? Or should i just break down and get another rochester?"

"If the mixture screws don't have much affect when turned, the fuel is not atomizing properly. The adapter plate may work or get a 1/4" thick gasket from a Merc. dealer."
