Hole in intake manifold

Blew a hole inthe pocket for the choke on the intake manifold on my starboard 1973 318 Chrysleron Monday. I run with edelbrock 1409's and no longer need to heat the choke soI was thinking of patching it with several layers of JB weld (good to 300degrees) and making a block off plate to go on top of that. Or should I lookfor new intake manifold? What do you guys think?

Thanks,

Matt

Jb weld 10 dolla
intake plus gasket plus time and other parts......hmmm?? 800 dolla(thats a cast intake)

put a piece of screen like a water faucet screen in there with the jb weld like glass work

You might consider using lead instead. Heat a thick metal pot with a torch, melt the lead, and pour it in the pocket (pre-cleaned, of course). We used to block off the cross over passages that way for drag racing. Fishing sinkers are a good source for the lead.
