Hit a rock......

I was going up a river in my 14' boat with a "95 Evinrude Deluxe 4hp, almost mint condition(was.....). I hit a bolder/rocks at a low speed. My first time boating that river........ Anyway, it still runs fine, but when i try to turn the throttle all the way on high now, it dies down and almost quits... Going back to my vehicle. Low and mid range work fine! I did only try that in forward, not in neutral. Could it just be off balance, or did i screw something up inside the engine? I'm hesitant to spend $120 on a new prop, then find out it isn't worth fixing. Although, it does run fine on low and medium. And I'm moving right next to a small lake, and away from this river....

I was not there to see / hear / feel how violent the hit was.-----First thing I would do is check the flywheel key.---Note----I am not sure if hitting something with a 4 hp could be described as " violent " either.

The flywheel key is what keeps the flywheel and the crankshaft spinning together. It's item #10 in the picture below. You'll need a flywheel puller to pull the flywheel off to look at it.
