i just got a old tri hull with a 1992 johnson 60 vj60elene and i had it out the first time and it ran great. just took it out again last weekend and theres a no wake for about 15 minutes from the launch to the main part of the lake went to give it throttle and wouldnt rev past 2500-2700 rpm. dont know how accurate the tach is the boat is a 1971 so took it back to the dock put it oh high idle -same thing. went sunday to get new plugs threw them in and ran great on high idle got back to the main part of the lake same thing wont rev. back to the dock again and high idle cuts out. seems to only be when the egines warm. started it on the muffs yeaterday and rev'd fine. i thought maybe the s.l.o.w system was kicking in but no alarm. thought maybe it was overheating so i took the water pump off and looked fine. the connecter off the temp sender was smashed and i think thats why the alarm wasnt going off but if that was the case how could the temp sender ground out to make the slow system kick in? if it happens again can i pull the connecter off the temp sender to see if anything changes? am i wrong in thinking its temp related?
