Heading out the marina this morning I could hear a bit of a wining noise coming from the engine on my Rinker 232. When outside of the marina I put it into full throttle to get it on the plane ( we had 4 adults and 4 children on board) and I heard a bang coming from the stern of the boat....at this point we lost power, the engine made more of a wining noise and started to surge between 1000 and 1500 revs.....the speedo stopped working at the same point....we made it back safely but after dropping the children off endeavoured to go out again....as soon as we went over 2000 rpm the wining would become louder and it the engine would surge. On start up the wining isn't there, we tried it on pontoon and it's dine until you start to rev. The wine sounds as though it's coming for the starboard side of the engine, and there appears to be a little bit more water in the bilge than usual. I checked the prop for damage and leg seems fine, did notice that the starboard riser was running hot as well. Any thoughts please?
