I have a 1987 260/5.7 it has a half fresh water cooling system, I recently changed the risers seawater pump and did a tuneup. I bought a aftermarket seawater pump and didnt know they were left and right hand turn so i hooked it up backwards and overheated the engine to the point of antifreeze blowing out of overfill. Got it back to marina fixed the problem, changed and flushed antifreeze and oil and filter. Now when idling my oil pressure is at 60-70 and when cruising at 3000-4000 rpm is steady between 70-75. No strange noises, oil is clean, and has run fine for about 3 hours now. Just concerned about oil pressure anyone have any suggestions? Is this normal? Thanks in advance.
