High idle issue 150 ocean runner

I have a J150execd idle at 1100 rpm. Ran fine all day and started idling high while flush on the hose. It’s never idled over 850 on the hose. Any ideas?

High idle is possibly an issue with your throttle linkage or you have a lean condition that has developed.

I took the cable off and no change. How would it go lean all of a sudden?

Ok, I think I found my problem. The port throttle plate shaft is sticking. When I open the throttle plates, it looks like the shaft is trying to screw itself in and binding. Any idea why it would do that?

Are the screws that hold the throttle plates to the shafts all there ??
