hi everyone I have a 2000 250 ox66 yamaha. and the engine was running fine with no problems, las time I when fishing the motor start shaking someone tell me it could be the o2 sensor I took it out and clean it but no luck. this is driving me crazy. can anyone help.

Check the mechanical fuel pumps on the engine block. If one of them is bad it will load the engine with fuel and make it shake and stall.

Easy test, if you pump the fuel bulb does it get hard or can you keep squeezing it?

thank you very much for your help. I rebuild all 3 mechanical pump, and the primer bulb gets hard. another sign is that is not idling at 700 rpm will not come down from 1300. only from time to time.and if you give it gas it take a couple of seconds to respond. thanks again.

there is no such thing as being able to clean an o2 sensor. hopefully you didn't damage it by whatever cleaning method you used. you can test it by placing it in a vise and slowly heating it with a propane torch. using a voltmeter on the low voltage setting, you should read anywhere between .5 and 3v dc. if not.......you damaged it.

thanks everyone for all your help. I have check everything on this engine from spark plug to injectors, vst pump. my friend is sending me a new o2 sensor, hopefully my old one is totally no good. this engine was running with no problems and all of the sudden start to have problem getting to higher rpm, start to shake real bad at idle but will never stall, so i don't know anymore.
