Hello All,
Newby to the forum here, from Islay Scotland, looking forward to all your advice!
I have an 16.5ft Orkney Strikeliner, semi-planning hull, with a 30hp tohatsu fourstroke on it. it plains fine with me or me and one lightish passenger in it but if there is much gear or 3 people its pretty dead in the water.
I bought the outboard new and it has a 9.9 x 11 prop on it, the factory spec says it can take up to a 14.1 pitch prop of the same diameter, although I can only find up to 13 in the country.
I have seen props of over 14.1 for sale in the USA but I don't want to strain the outboard.
Basically im after on advice on which prop to get to get the best top speed out of my boat.
Thanks, Thomas
