"Some way or another, you'll need to remove the remainder of the telltale's nylon threaded portion from the exhaust housing.

After which, clean the threads with a pipe thread tap (tapered) of the proper size. Do not attempt to use a regular type tap as that will result in not being able to tighten the new telltale fitting."
