"2001 Mercury XR6 Classic 150 V6 2 stroke, fireing on only 1,2,3 coils no spark on 4,5,6. dont know what to check next. thanks"

Looking at the engine from the rear, the port bank, top to bottom, would be cylinders 1,3,and 5. Starboard would be 2,4,and 6. Just to clarify, are you saying that 1,2,and 3 are not firing?

The reason I ask is that it would be very unusual for 1,2,and 3 not to fire.

"Oh, duh, CDM in '01. Sorry. Than a bad stop diode on 1,2 or 3 will prevent 4,5,and 6 from firing. And Vise versa. 1,2 and 3 also get the charge ground path through 4,5, and 6 and vise versa.
Start unpluging CDM's 1,2,and 3. Replace the one that fixes it."
