"I have a Yamaha 1998 40 hp with tilt that I use for shallow water fishing in the marsh. Great motor but it does NOT have a choke system, it uses some type of high pressure misting system behind the carbs, it does not work and I hate it. For me to cold start the engine I squirt starting fluid in the intake first thing and it's good to go for the day. Yamaha was selling a choke kit for this engine because of the numerous complaints they were getting. They have since stopped making and selling this kit. The Kit part number was 90891-40138-00 but no one has this item in stock anymore. If someone knows how I can get my hands on this I would love to hear from you. I have put this request on other forums and so far, no luck.
