" i recently replaced the roller bearings in this 1979 johnson 25 hp motor and got it all put back together and find out it wont start i thought that it may have been ignition timming but that can only go on one way i am getting spark and the compresion test show 95psi. on bot cylindersis this good enuogh to start the engine?i am getting fuelthe carb and every thing worked fine before the bearings went out but the thing is i had to make some gaskets for the reed plate assembly i made two gaskets for both sides of the plateand when i turn the fly wheel with the carb off i dont hear the humming noises of the reed vlaves moving well i hear a little bit but not as much as my 10 hp evinrude also i can spray starting fluid in the carb and pluggs holes wich i never ever should do that it was just to see but when i pull the starter rope all it does is kick over once or back fire.also what should i seal the crank case with i used prmatex oh yeah one more thing when i had the motor apart i soaked the crankshaft to connecting rod bearings in disel and ididnt wash them off before reinstaling then could the disel be getting in to the combustion chamber and not leting the fuel ingnite i hope i gave you enouhg info thanks in advance,josh hildreth "
