hello, i'm having the weber conversion put on my 1985 bayliner trophy 2160 and my mechanic at the shop said he has it on there and everything is hooked up and it idles like a champ, but when goes to give it throttle it starts sputtering n popping and acts like its getting too much fuel. just wondering what i should tell him to do because it is taking them way too long to get it running and i would love to go catch some more salmon up here in alaska. i read about getting it tuned in and making sure the jet sizes are correct and also heard that maybe it needs a fuel pressure regulator to keep it down around 2 or 3 psi. anyways any help here would be so greatly appreciated, i just want my boat back and to never take it back to the shop where its at ever again, its already been there 2 weeks and two weekends, i'm so bummed out with the service i'm getting from these fellas, it needed some other parts and stuff and they never even ordered them till like a week after they got it, so supposedly everything is back together and he's just playing hell tuning it. as for the mechanic and shop i just hope he gets it running on monday and if not then by tuesday and if he keeps freaking delaying me then i guess i should just go get it back and get it in the hands of someone more professional. this guy out there has been in business for 10 years and some other people like him, but i'm not gettin the right kinda service...ugh gonna be two and a half weeks anyway i look at it from when i brought it in told em what was up n what i wanted done. please give me any suggestions and any insight on possibility of regulator or jetting or whatever you can think of. i'm new to saltwater boating, i grew up in a small town in rural alaska out in the woods running skiffs on the kuskokwim river with outboards and i am very new to inboard outboard sterndrives, so any help or advice on the situation is greatly appreciated.
thank you in advance
