Help with a "missing problem".

I own a 1985 Ski Supreme, it has a Pleasure Craft 351 Windsor in it. My first question is, how do I know what the ci is, I don't know much about this motor and don't know if they have different cubic inch motors for the 351 Windsor in this specific boat, and the second and most important, when running at idle the boat feels like it is surging and when accelerating under load (pulling my son wakeboarding), it is missing badly. Once I am up to speed, she seems to run fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The displacement is nominally 351 cu. in. unless the block was bored or the crank changed.

On the surge - when was the last time the engine was tuned up? Plugs, wires, caps, points, timing verified, filters changed?

I had the same problem,I own a 1979 ski nautique with a 351 . I was having problems with missing in turns at about 2500 rpm's.I put new points in and that took care of the problem.
