Help with a broken tilt lock port?

Hi All
i am rebuilding a 1981 50hpJohnson,
J50BELCIC
My problem is it has a manual tilt and the tilt stop port is broken, now I have a spare but I can't get the old one off, has any one come across this before,? because any ideas would be priceless at the moment............
ps: I also need a set of bolts that fix the air box to the carbs?

ill try to put up pics soon as possible, on this particular motor it has a manual tilt function and the plate with the slot cut out of it that allows the motor to be raised and locked in the up or down position is broken, I have a good used one but I'm not sure how to separate it from the lever and side clamp it's mounted to?
