Help with 85 hp enirude

i have just got a 1976 85 hp

i have just got a 1976 85 hp evinrude and i got it to run reall good but i noticed will running the engine on the flushette that it wasnt spraying water out of the exhuast relife so i looked at it closey and put my hand by it and it was just a mist coming outso i squeezed the flushette on there tight and now alot more more water comes out should i continue to run it on the flushette pr will this hurt my impeller and what would cuase it to do this also when i let it run or idle for a bout 5 min i will kill it and it is hard to start back up at idle should i replace the pluggs i just cleand and rebuilt the carb so what do you think it is?

" The long section between the powerhead & the lower unit (exhaust hsg) has another hsg within it. Within the inner hsg exists red hot exhaust. Between the inner and outter housing exists water to cool the associated metal. Due to some seals being better or worse from one engine to another at the bottom of that inner hsg, the water within may or may not get high enough to flow out those two relief holes that you're speaking of. The water flow near those relief holes will be greater when the engine is actually in the water.

Pertaining to starting at a dead idle.... not many engines will do that. It's best to raise the warm up lever to obtain some throttle.
