help with 7.4 fuel problem

I'm having a problem with my motor it needs gas poured into the thottle body to start it then runs fine it will idle then all of a sudden stall to start it again I have to pour gas in again.It runs fine at higher rpms any suguestions would great.

If you have a throttle body injection, NOT carberator!! with a electric fuel pump then it may be your oil pressure switch.

Please provide more info.

outdrive (bravo I, II, Duo)
Electric fuel pump or not
carbed or not

experience level or not!!
 
If it stalls at idle and runs fine at higher RPM's, then, if it's carb'd, I would think the idle circuit jet circuits are gummed up and it needs the carb cleaned / rebuilt or it may be a vacuum leak somewhere. Try closing the choke by hand somewhat and see if it'll idle or running the idle adjuster screws in to stop position (lightly) then back out again to around where you started. If it's injected, then all bets are off and it could be a host of things. May be skunky fuel.

What Induction system,..??

Have ya changed the fuel Filter lately,..?? was there any Crud in the old 1,..??
