Help! Trim Motor Switch Replacement

Hi everyone!

New to the forum as far as posts go, but I've been reading your tips and advice for a while...hoping someone can help me out with this little issue.

My trim motor on my 1990 90HP Johnson started acting up at the end of last season. Was opening it up this year and did some trouble shooting, found that it's on the switch in the control handle that went bad. That was the great news! The bad news is that I have no clue how to find a replacement for it.

I've done my research online, and none of the switches I have found for sale look a bit like mine. They also don't give sizes, so I can't do a comparison. The boat itself is a 17' 1990 Mako center console.

Any idea on where I could find one? I've looked the best I could for the last few days, but I think I've exhausted my knowledge in the department. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

I had that in a 1994 90 evinrude..evinrude only sold the whole little switch and cable...somewhere between 150 and 200 bucks..dont remember exactly...the switch is a ww1 design and has a little brass contact rocker in it that will clean up if you have the patience and the eyesight and the nerves to take it apart...you will have a few minute parts and its a touchy job..also be extremely careful when removing it from the arm assembly...its very easy to break the little plastic piece it screws onto..if you break that then you looking to buy a control arm etc..I ended up mounting a switch in the dash..
