I belive it to be made in 1973 by Clinton KTV27404.

I need to Know oil/gas mixture and were I could find a female fitting for the gas line that conects to the motor. Iv'e been looking for hours.

This motor is actually in excelent condition judging by my novice eye.

"Yes, it's definately a 19

"Yes, it's definately a 1973, 4 horse built by Clinton. The general info I have on the Clinton engines is 50:1 for the water cooled engines and 36:1 for air cooled.

A limited selection of parts (including manuals) can be found at www.discount-marine-parts.com

A quick email to them could also probably confirm the oil/gas ratio..."

Thanks for your help. I email

Thanks for your help. I email the dicount marine people. Hopefully they will be able to help me with what I need.

Do you know if the is rare outboard? It was hard for me to find any info on it.

"Not extremely rare - was buil

"Not extremely rare - was built for Montgomery Wards stores - they sold "lot's". And this model series was around for quite a few years.

If you are fixing it up for personal use, you will have yourself a decent motor. If you are fixing it up hoping to sell it - don't bother - it will cost you more to get it running than what you can recover if you sell it (most likely).

The "supply" of motors of this vintage/class far outweighs the "demand"..."

I am just fixing it up for myself. I just bought the fuel line fittings at NAPA BIG Mistake. Ran me 28 bucks. I am still waiting for the Discount Marine people to get back to me. I bought the motor off of EBay for 11.50. I only had to drive 50 miles to pick it up.

How am I able to tell is this

How am I able to tell is this motor is air cooled or water cooled? Thier is know writing on the cowl saying it is air cooled.

I figured I better as to be safe.

"If it's air cooled it wil

"If it's air cooled it will have thin "fins" on the cylider head (just like a lawnmower, tiller etc) to dissapate the heat.

I am fairly certain that your model will be water-cooled. A smooth (un-finned) head where the spark-plug goes will be a dead give-away."
