ok i found out that it was the

ok i found out that it was the safty heat sensor making the motor run in SLOW mode if un plug it it runs fine but if i plug it in it doesnt. even when the motor is cold. will it hurt to leave it unpluged or do i need to break down and spend the $$$

Plugging or unplugging the temp sensors will not cause the engine to shut off when put in gear. This is the description you gave in your original post.
SLOW mode kicks in at 2500 rpm, only when the engine is overheating, so again, your first post says nothing about engine problems at 2500....

I would look at your diagnosis again....something's not right."
