Hi all,
My 50hp inline 4 Mariner (2 stroker, 1983 model) recently threw a rod and I had to rebuild the top end.
Coming from a background of rebuilding 2 stroke motorbikes I have some competancy here, but one mistake I made was I forgot to mark the flywheel/harmonic balancer when I pulled it off.
I read that setting it back is as simple as finding TDC for the 1st cylinder and lining this up with the 'zero' marking on the flywheel. Is this all I need to do? or is there something more I need to know to put it back correctly. It just sounds too easy!
Thanks!
EDIT: To add, I also removed the stator and trigger assembly. Is there any special way of putting these back in too? Thanks
